CM Technology develops sms service for windshield damage

Mobile technology provider CM Technology has developed a new sms service for the car glass repair business in cooperation with application service provider EURO-motive. The new service changes the demand for assistance (customer contacts service company) into a service offer (service company contacts customer). In this way, the customer can make sure that he/she will be approached by a company that is actually able to tackle the problem.

In case of windshield damage, the insured car driver should text the word ‘GLAS’ (i.e. the Dutch word for glass) to the shortcode 3669. After that, the customer is asked per sms in which postal code area he or she prefers to be helped. After having texted the postal code, the sms service seeks the most adjacent Glasgarant car glass repair company. This company is given the instruction to contact the customer as soon as possible to inventorise the damage and to make a windshield repair or replacement appointment.

The sms service enables local provision of services. In case of multiple operating companies in the same postal code, the repair order will be allocated to these companies by means of a caroussel functionality.
